Operator Guide

Step 4

(From Step 3)

Diagnostic tests can be run on many resources while the operating system is running. However,
problem isolation is obtained by running diagnostics in service mode.

Do you want to run the diagnostics in service mode?

NO

Go to Step 5.

YES

Do the following to shut down your system:

1. At the system prompt, stop the operating system.
2. After the

operating system is stopped, set the power switch on the system

unit to Off.

3. Go to Step 6.

Step 5

This step loads concurrent diagnostics.

1. Log on as

root

or as

superuser

.

2. Enter the diag command.

3. Wait until the words

DIAGNOSTIC OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS

are displayed, or wait for

three minutes.

Are the

displayed without any obvious

console display problems?

NO

Do the following to shut down your system:

1. At the system prompt, stop the operating system.
2. After the operating system is stopped, set the power switch on the system

unit to Off.

3. Go to Step 6.

Go to Step 10.
