Power Supply
Note: For a translation of this safety notice, refer to the

Order Number SA23-2652.
DANGER
Do not attempt to open the covers of the power supply. The power supply is
not serviceable and is to be replaced as a unit.
Removal
1. Remove the front cover using the procedure on page 4-3.
2. Remove the side cover using the procedure on page 4-6.
3. Remove the rear cover using the procedure on page 4-8.
4. Place the system unit in a horizontal position.
5. Disconnect any cable connected to the Micro Channel adapters. Record which cable
attaches to which adapter.
6. Disconnect the SCSI cable from both the SCSI controller and the devices located in the
front of the system unit.
7. Remove any Micro Channel adapter installed in the system unit using the procedure on
page 4-14.
8. Remove the CPU and memory card retainers using the procedure on page 4-22.
9. Remove the front fan using the procedure on page 4-20.
10.Unplug any power connector from any components in the system unit and from the
system planar.
11. Remove the retaining screw used to anchor the power supply to the unit (This screw is
located in the rear.)
12.Loosen the captive screw located at the front right side of the power supply. Then slightly
incline the power supply until you are able to remove it from the unit.
