Replacing the system battery
Your system battery lets your computer save important
system information. Your computer comes with a 3-volt
(CR2032) battery. If you replace it, you must use the
same type.
Follow these steps to replace the battery:
1 Turn off the computer.
2 Remove the system cover.
3 Locate the battery on the system board. Refer to the
board layout figure page 111.
4 Firmly press the center tab to release the battery.
5 Lift the battery from the holder with your fingers.
6 Slide the new battery into the holder with the “+”
side up and then press it down until it clicks into
place.
7 Discard the old battery according to local regulations.
Caution!
Your computer uses
lithium batteries. There
may be a risk of fire,
explosion, or burns if the
batteries are handled
incorrectly. To ensure
safety:
Do not recharge,
disassemble, heat, or
incinerate a lithium
battery.
Replace the battery with
an identical or equivalent
type lithium battery.
Discard used lithium
batteries according to
local country dispositions.
