Replacement Power Cords

Table 5-3 lists the power cords rated for use with the HP E840x mainframes.
If it becomes necessary to replace the power cord, obtain the appropriate
cord listed in the table or use a cord with the same voltage and current
ratings.

WARNING

Use the power cord rated for maximum current for the
operating voltage of the mainframe.

Power cords supplied by HP have polarities matched to the power input
socket on the instrument:

L = line or active conductor (also called “live” or “hot”)
N = neutral or identified conductor
E = earth or safety ground

WARNING

For protection from electrical shock, the power cord ground
must not be defeated.
