Basic Settings
After installation, some basic settings for work mode are required.
Address Setting
Before system debugging, set the address of the zone expander and remote call station. Start with
address 1 and increase by one number for each additional zone expander or remote call station. The
setting range for the RK-ZONE8 is from 1 to 15 and the RK-MIC is from 1 to 6.
Use the address DIP switch located on the back panel of the device to set the address using binary
numbering. Refer to the chapter “Relation Table of Address & DIP” for DIP switch settings.
End-of-Line Resistor
Devices can communicate with each other via CAN bus. End-of-line resistors need to be installed to
keep communications between devices normal. Both sides of CAN bus should be installed with a
120
resistor as shown below:
A 120
resistor is built into the interface of each device. Users can easily connect or disconnect the
resistor to the bus via DIP switch.
System Extension Bus
The inside of the system extension interface of the RK-MCU is connected to a 120
resistor. After
the Master Control Unit is connected to the zone expanders, users need to turn on the 4
th
pin of the
DIP
switch “MODE” to connect the end-of-line resistor of the last zone expander.
Remote Call Station Bus
The RK-MCU has 2 interfaces without a 120
resistor used to connect remote call stations. After
the Master Control Unit is connected to the remote call stations, turn on
“ELR” to connect to the end-
of-line resistor on the last RK-MIC. If the Master Control Unit is at the end of the bus, it is necessary
to insert a plug with a 120
resistor into the other interfaces.
Work Mode Setting
The work mode setting for RK-MCU, RK-ZONE8, and RK-AMP500 is shown below.

Mic/Line Setting
The input range and phantom power output of the input interface can be set via the DIP switch
on the right side of Mic/Line.
