Reinstall or Replace the Nebulizer
1. reinstall the gas inlet fitting and the black plastic nut with seal.
2. install the nebulizer in reverse order.
3. install the chamber shield.
4. test the nebulizer to ensure that it is working properly.
NOTICE
Replace the nebulizer if the cleaning and preventative maintenance steps provided are
ineffective.
Decontaminate the Nebulizer
Set the evaporation temperature to 95°C and the gas pressure to 2 bar (29 psi). Pump
the appropriate solvent through the system at the rate of 2 mL/min. the solvent will be
determined by the nature of the samples that were previously analyzed with the detector. if
you do not know the nature of the sample, ethanol is a good choice. Do not use solvents that
can potentially corrode the instrument. maintain the flow and temperature for a minimum of
three hours.
