MAINTENANCE
This section describes how to maintain the model P-5100 TEG. Before attempting to maintain
the TEG the qualified service person should be thoroughly familiar with its:
•
technical specifications;
•
process description;
•
installation;
•
startup and shutdown;
•
power output evaluation, and
•
adjustment.
NOTE:
Good record keeping is necessary for long term follow-up. Use the TEG
Performance Log, located at the end of this manual, for recording details each
time adjustments are made, or servicing is carried out.
9.1
RECOMMENDED PERIODIC MAINTENANCE
The TEG is a solid-state high-reliability device that requires very little maintenance. However,
it does require periodic service checks to provide the years of trouble free service of which it
is capable. The maintenance interval depends on the site conditions (fuel purity,
environment, etc.) and must be established based on-site records. Field experience indicates
that a properly installed TEG usually requires maintenance only once a year.
At least once a year evaluate V
set
as per the procedure below. This should be the first
procedure during any service visit and will determine what further service may be needed.
