INSTALLATION
This section provides installation instructions for the Model p-5100 Thermoelectric Generator.
5.1
PRECAUTIONS
WARNING!
The installation must conform with local codes or, in
the absence of local codes, with the CSA-B149.1
Natural Gas and Propane Installation Code and CSA
B149.2, Propane Storage and Handling. The TEG
must be kept clear and free from combustible
materials, gasoline and other flammable vapors and
liquids. Maintain 900 mm (36 in.) minimum
clearances from combustible construction, to the top,
sides and back, and install over a noncombustible
floor.
WARNING!
Do not use this appliance if any part has been under
water. Immediately call a qualified service technician
to inspect the appliance and to replace any part of the
control system and any gas control which has been
underwater.
WARNING!
The TEG, when installed must be electrically grounded
in accordance with local codes, or in the absence of
local codes, with the applicable provisions of the
Canadian Electrical Code CSA C22.1. A grounding lug
is provided on the sidewall of the cabinet for this
purpose.
5.2
TOOLS REQUIRED
The following tools are required for installing the TEG:
•
1 - DC Voltmeter, accurate to ±0.1 V.
•
2 - Adjustable Wrenches, that will open to 16 mm (5/8 in.)
•
1 - Screwdriver, flat-head
•
1 - Screwdriver, Phillips
•
4 - Bolts & nuts, #1/4-20 for mounting
