Faults and errors
In the unlikely event that an error occurs that that could affect the physical condition of the
evaporator or its ability to safeguard the integrity of the samples (a critical error) the system
will stop automatically. A description of the problem appears in the
ALARMS
field of the
Run log
screen.
If a non-critical error occurs, the system continues to operate (possibly with reduced
efficiency) and a description of the problem is shown in the
ALARMS
field. An example of a
non-critical error could be the failure of an IR lamp, the evaporator would continue to operate
without compromising the safety of samples, but the evaporation rate would slow down.
Clearing Errors
The evaporator will not allow a run to start while an error is displayed. To rectify the cause,
follow the advice on
Rectifying faults and errors
given in the tables on the following pages.
Once the problem is resolved clear the error by switching the evaporator off, wait for ten
seconds then switch on again.
