Data transfer
Data can be transferred to or from the
evaporator using a USB data key (not
supplied). To transfer files, insert the data
key into the USB A port, to the right of the
control panel before switching the
evaporator on. If necessary, switch the
evaporator off, wait ten seconds, insert the
data key and switch the evaporator on
again.
The evaporator requires a sub-directory
entitled:
Series2
to be
present on the data
key.
When the evaporator transfers files to a
data key for the first time, it creates a
“
Series2
” sub-directory on the data key.
However if files are to be transferred from a
computer to the evaporator via a data key
that has not previously been used for this
purpose (for example, files that have been
Emailed), a “
Series2
” folder must be
manually created on the data key, before
copying files to it.
To transfer data, go to the
OPTIONS
menu
and select
FILE TRANSFER
, then select
one of the following options:
COPY ALL METHODS FROM
DATAKEY:
All methods on the data
key will be transferred to the evaporator
(run slot 1 to 100). Where blank method
slots exist on the data key, evaporator
methods will remain unchanged, all
other methods will be overwritten.
COPY ALL METHODS TO DATAKEY:
Methods can be copied for safekeeping
or for cloning another system.
COPY LOG FILES TO DATAKEY:
Log
files for the last four evaporation runs
can be downloaded for method
validation, troubleshooting or method
development purposes.
SAVE SYSTEM INFO TO DATAKEY:
For troubleshooting use by Genevac
Service department.
COPY SETUP.INI FROM DATAKEY:
For use by Genevac Service Engineers.
Confirmation requests or advice messages
may appear on the LCD screen and file
transfer progress is indicated.
Note:
For reliable operation, use a small
USB data key (4 GB or less) that does not
have protection, encryption or drive
partition.
