GDL 90 Installation Manual

"MSG 018: GPS engine has failed."

Comment:

This message indicate a problem with the internal GPS

receiver. Contact the factory.

"MSG 019: Missed ownship transmit loopback."

Comment:

There is no need to call the factory unless the problem is

persistent, or other problems are reported as well.

"MSG 020: Invalid magnetic variation file."

Comment:

The GDL 90 magnetic variation file is invalid or missing.

The GDL 90 may continue to be used. Moving map output (if used) will
not provide mag var correction. Contact the factory for assistance.

"MSG 021: Magnetic variation file out of date."

Comment:

The GLD 90 magnetic variation file has expired. The GDL

90 may continue to be used. Moving map output (if used) will not
provide mag var correction. Contact the factory for assistance.

5.2.2

Messages for External Command

The “external” command can produce Messages 060 and higher.

"MSG 060: One of antenna BITE tests has failed."
"MSG 061: All antenna BITE tests have failed."

Comment

: On the maintenance port, enter the command “log current”

for more information on which antenna has failed.

"MSG 062: Control panel is not detected."
"MSG 063: Control panel has failed (no heartbeat)."

Comment:

The Control Panel or its interface to the GDL 90 is not

working correctly. Check the Control Panel installation and APM
configuration.

"MSG 064: No valid data from the Altitude Encoder."
"MSG 065: No valid altitude available."

Comment:

The altitude encoder or its interface to the GDL 90 is not

working correctly. Check the altitude encoder installation and APM
configuration.

"MSG 066: Display has failed."

Comment:

The GDL 90 is not receiving Initialization messages from

the display. Check the display installation and its configuration, and the
APM configuration.

"MSG 067: No response from APM."

Comment:

The APM is not communicating with the GDL 90. Check the

APM installation (flying wires connected to the correct pins on P1).
Contact the factory if the problem cannot be resolved.

"MSG 068: ADC/AHRS interface timeout."

Comment:

The GDL 90 is not receiving the expected ARINC words

from the ADC or AHRS. Check the equipment installation and wiring,
and the APM configuration. Contact the factory if the problem cannot
be resolved.
