Settings Format
Description
UAT Antenna mode

0 = dual 1 = top-only 2 = bottom-only
Indicates whether the GDL 90 is connected to 1 or 2 antennas.

Enter 0 for most installations (e.g. when antenna cable length is
less than 100 ft). Otherwise, measure cable delay and enter.
Bottom UAT

GPS Antenna Delay

SBAS Provider

0 = disabled 1 - 7 = Enables the specified SBAS source
When using internal WAAS GPS receiver, this setting controls
which SBAS (Satellite Based Augmentation System) sources are
used.
Use 0 to disable SBAS corrections, or use 1 for WAAS corrections.
Settings 2-7 are not approved for use.

Micro APM Configuration Worksheet
Use Table 4-4 on the next two pages as a worksheet for planning the installation and APM settings. Save
a copy of the worksheet for future reference, and in case technical support is required.
Grayed-out sections of the worksheet indicate APM settings that are invalid or should not be used.
4.2.5
Other Equipment Setup
Configure the other equipment that interfaces to the GDL 90 (control panels, displays, etc.) according to
each unit’s installation instructions.
If the aircraft is used in an area where Air Traffic Services are available using ADS-B, perform the
following two checks:
•
Use the GDL 90’s Maintenance port “apmread” command to verify that the “CAPSTONE
feature” is Enabled. This allows the GDL 90 to transmit the squawk code to an FAA ground
station.
•
If the MX20 or GMX 200 acts as the GDL 90 controller, verify that the display’s “GDL 90 Code
Edit” function is Enabled.
However, if the aircraft has both a display and another device used for UAT control (such as a GSL 71 or
a Transponder), then the display must be configured to disable the “GDL 90 Code Edit” function.
