4.2.2.3 APMinit

Command

This command starts the APM initialization procedure, which leads the user step by step in configuring
the GDL 90 installation. The user can quit the initialization procedure at any time (by typing ‘quit’);
however the APM changes will not be saved. The new APM settings take effect when the initialization
process is completed and the GDL 90 is restarted (by either cycling the power, or typing the “

reset”

command).

NOTE

The GDL 90 must be restarted after modifying the APM settings before the changes take
effect. Use the “

reset

” command, or recycle the power.

Detailed instructions on the APM initialization procedure are in section 4.2.3.

4.2.2.4 APMread

Command

This command displays the current APM settings. If the GDL 90 requires service, please provide a copy
of the APM settings from the “

apmread

” command, via either email or printout. This helps ensure

accurate service.

4.2.2.5 ARINC

Command

This command displays the most recent value of each ARINC label received. For a continuous display,
give the “

arinc

” command without any parameters. Use “

arinc once

” to display the ARINC labels once,

and use “

arinc off

” to turn off the ARINC label display.

Example:

>arinc once

Labels are listed by interface and label number.
(For labels with multiple counts, only the last data is shown.)

4.2.2.6 CP

command

This command shows the current value of data provided by the GDL 90’s control panel. For a continuous
display, give the “

cp

” command without any parameters. Use “

cp once

” to display the control panel data

once, and use “

cp off

” to turn off the control panel display.

Example:

Note: The term ‘Ignored’ means that Air Traffic Services are not being requested.
