Switching on the operating voltage
PLEASE NOTE
Observe also the switching-on instructions in
the Allen-Bradley controller manual.
Some A-B controllers automatically carry out a
comparison between the NOMINAL and ACTUAL
configurations when the operating voltage is
switched on. For this configuration run it is
important that:
•
the specifications on configuration are as
complete as possible and are correct;
•
the power supply to the controller and to the
connected RIO slaves is made either simulta-
neously or in the sequence specified below.
Please observe the following points when switch-
ing on the power supply:
•
Common supply: If the control system and all
the slaves have a common power supply, the
supply should be switched on via a common
power supply unit or common central switch.
•
Separate supply: If the control system and
the slaves have separate power supplies, the
supplies should be switched on in the
following sequence:
1. power supply for all the slaves
2. power supply for the control system
If the controller detects a discrepancy between the
ACTUAL and NOMINAL configuration, the PLC
will react as follows:
•
the red LED will light up.
