Port Option Cards
The 8500-MSM24, 8800-MSM48c, and 8900-MSM128 modules have a slot for an option card that adds
one or more high-speed data ports to the MSM.
The S-G8Xc port option card (
see the following figure
) adds eight 1-gigabit SFP data ports to the MSM.
These data ports operate the same as the ports on the G24Xc I/O module.

The S-10G1Xc port option card (
see the following figure
) adds one 10-gigabit XFP data port to the MSM.
This data port operates the same as the ports on the 10G4Xc I/O module.
