In the default configuration of the 8900-40G6X-xm I/O module, all ports:
•
Are added to the default VLAN as untagged
•
Inherit the properties of the default VLAN (for example, protocol type and VLANid)
The 8900-40G6X-xm I/O module has the following LEDs:
•
Module status
•
Module diagnostics
•
Port status (four below each QSFP+ cage)
When a port is operating in 40-Gbps mode, the farthest left LED below that port lights blue to indicate
the 40-Gbps operation. When a port is operating in 10-Gbps mode, each LED for an active channel from
the port lights green.
For more information about the LEDs and their activity on the 8900-40G6X-xm I/O module, see

on page 35.
I/O Module LEDs
This section describes the LEDs for the module, the port, and inline power delivery status for I/O
modules in the BlackDiamond 8800 Series of switches.
Note
Inline power delivery applies only to a G48tc, G48Te2, 8500-G48T-e, or 8900-G48T-xl I/O
module with an installed S-POE card.
