Batteries contain chemical substances. For this reason, dispose of them correctly,
taking into account the country-specific regulations.
>
Cylinder seals must be replaced by trained personnel after two years at the latest.
The durability of the seals depends on component use and the installation environ-
ment, i.e. the service life will be shorter in environments affected by direct sunlight or
in hot, cold and dusty environments, etc. Immediately replace seals upon identifying
any damage, such as cracks, deformation or atypical appearance to continue to guar-
antee the corresponding IP protection. EVVA recommends to always have the seals
replaced by trained personnel as part of battery replacements. Any regular, statutory
inspections of the locking components must be carried out as per the local regulations
applicable in the country of installation (e.g. escape doors).
Information on operation
>
Ex works all AirKey components (locking components and media) are in so-called
"factory state". In this condition, any media can operate any locking component.
NFC-compatible smartphones with AirKey app and activated maintenance mode can
also operate locking components in factory state. For this reason, make sure the lock-
ing component is updated immediately after having installed it to establish access se-
curity.
>
Instruct users of the electronic locking system to always keep ID media safe.
>
In the event that a medium is lost, it must be immediately deactivated using the
software and the affected locking component must be immediately updated using an
NFC-compatible smartphone with installed AirKey app or a coding station.
>
In the event that it is not possible to remove the AirKey cylinder thumb turn, attempt
to unlock the lock cylinder using a valid medium and simultaneously remove it as
usual using the assembly tool. In the event that this fails, you additionally have the
option of blocking the thumb turn sleeve using a slim metal pin via a small hole on
the front of the electronics module to be able to consequently remove the thumb turn
using the assembly tool.
>
The thumb turn is not intended as an object to move the door panel (as would be the
handle, etc.). Do not carry or lift the door panel using the thumb turn.
>
Do not stand on the thumb turn.
>
Do not cover the reader equipment of the locking components with metal materials.
>
Regularly check the correct condition and function of the locking components (at min-
imum once a month) as part of a functional check using authorised media.
>
We recommend you keep the locking system up-to-date by regularly installing soft-
ware and firmware updates. Make sure to run firmware updates when the door is
open and additionally test the corresponding functions after having completed the
update.
