Commissioning

This section describes the first steps to commission the AirKey system. The following sec-
tions describe individual AirKey system functions in detail.

4.1

Glossary

The following terms are used within the context of AirKey:

Designation

Function

Client

Owner of the locking system with a unique customer number.

Administrator

Administrators are responsible for administrative tasks within
clients' AirKey online administration. Administrators centrally
manage the system and they always have comprehensive au-
thorisation.
It is possible to create several (equally authorised) administra-
tors for one client. A minimum of one administrator must be de-
fined for each AirKey locking system.

Person

Persons using authorisation media.
Persons are assigned to locking components and authorised to
access areas with media.

Service technician

Service technicians are responsible for on-site locking compo-
nent updates and maintenance. They are equipped with a
smartphone with a maintenance authorisation for the locking
system. They are exclusively authorised to add or remove com-
ponents from a system. The smartphone with enabled mainte-
nance mode grants service technicians so-called "construction
site authorisations" which also enable to block locking compo-
nents in factory state.
