Emergency media

Emergency media are media without expiry dates and permanent authorisations for all
locking components within an AirKey locking system. Emergency media are used in
emergencies (e.g. by the fire service) and must be kept safe. Emergency media can un-
lock locking components regardless of the time. Merely the power supply of the locking
component must be on.

9.1

Issuing emergency media

Create an emergency medium (e.g. card or key tag) as described in the

Creating media

section and assign permanent access authorisations to all system doors in order to issue
emergency media. Ensure that emergency media are updated in the event of system
extensions to also guarantee access to additional doors in emergencies. Please refer to

Assigning authorisations

and

Creating authorisations

for more detailed information on as-

signing and creating authorisations.

Please note that media, such as cards, key tags or combi keys may also
become faulty. For this reason, create a corresponding number of emergen-
cy media, appropriate for the locking system.

We recommend exclusively using card or key tags as emergency media as
smartphones are not suitable for this purpose due to their short battery life.

Always keep emergency media up to date and update them regularly.

We recommend you work with areas which contain all doors associated with
the system to facilitate emergency media management. Then assign a per-
manent authorisation for this area to emergency media.
