Upmix Mode:
This control allows the user to set the upmix audio processing module to automatically
determine if the audio needs to be upmixed. It can automatically detect the presence of 5.1 surround
sound on its inputs. When set to
Auto,
the upmix audio processing module will determine if 5.1 is
present. If 5.1 is not present it will up-mix the audio to 5.1 surround sound. If 5.1 is present, it will
pass the input to its output. When set to
Force,
the upmix audio processing module will always upmix
the incoming audio. When set to
Disable,
the upmix audio processing module will not upmix the
audio and instead just pass the input audio to its output.
Upmix Auto Source:
This control allows the user to set the 2-channel (stereo) audio source when
performing an upmix. When set to
Up mix L and R,
it will perform an upmix on the Up mix L and R
input channels when operating in upmix mode. When set to
Up mix passthru L and R,
it will perform
an upmix on the Up mix passthru L and R input channels when operating in upmix mode.
Centre Width:
This control allows the user to set the width of front centre sound in the perceived
sound image when listening to upmix audio processing module output. It mainly affects the perception
of speech and dialogue. Narrower centre width will cause the front centre sound primarily coming
from the centre speaker. Wider centre width causes the front centre sound comes from the centre,
left and right speakers. The value range is 0 (minimum width) to 7 (maximum width) in increments of
1.
Surround Depth:
This control allows the user to set the depth of surround sound in the perceived
sound image when listening to upmix audio processing module output. More sound will be directed to
the front speakers (centre, left and right speakers) if a shallower surround depth is selected. If a
deeper surround depth is selected, more sound will be shifted to the surround speakers. The value
range is 0 (shallowest) to 7 (deepest) in increments of 1.
Surround Delay:
This control allows the user to set the amount of time that the surround sound will
be delayed against other channels (in milliseconds). The proper amount of surround delay will provide
a good perception of surround sound. The value range is 4.000 ms (shortest) to 20.000 ms (longest)
in increments of 0.021 ms.
