5.2.5.  Image Enhancement 

The Image Enhancement tab contains controls related to active picture image enhancement 
adjustments. Image enhancement provides the ability to enhance/sharpen the content within the active 
picture by applying video processing filters. The image enhancement controls allow the user to tweak 
the image enhancement algorithm to their perceived acceptable level. Figure 5-12 illustrates the layout 
of the controls in the VistaLINK® PRO configuration view.

Image Enhancement 

Image Enhancement Enable: 

Setting this control to

  will enable the Image Enhancement 

video processing. Otherwise, when set to 

Disable

 no image enhancement will be applied. 

 

Detail Gain: 

This control selects the amount of detail gain to be applied to the active picture. The 

range is from 0 to 127, where 0 refers to no increase in detail gain, and 127 refers to maximum 
increase in detail gain. Typical operating range for this control is from 0 to 50. Higher values (beyond 
50) will normally distort the image beyond the range that is normally considered acceptable. 
 

Enhancement Limit: 

This control selects the largest detail value to be added back into the signal. 

The range is from 0 to 63. Any enhancement detail that has a value larger than this value will be 
clipped. 
 

Horizontal Band: 

This control selects the Horizontal frequency band to be enhanced. The horizontal 

band is adjusted in increments of 5, where 0 selects the lowest frequency band available and 20 the 
highest.
