8 Depending on the type of media loaded, press a function key from F1 to
F3.
Select ROLL-1 or ROLL-2 when roll paper is loaded.
When ROLL-1 is selected, the paper’s leading edge and width are
detected.
When ROLL-2 is selected, the current carriage position is regarded as
the paper’s leading edge and only the paper’s width is detected.
Select SHEET if a single sheet is loaded. The sheet’s leading edge,
trailing edge, and width are detected.
9 After media detection has completed, the printer enters READY status
which means that it is ready to receive data.
If the media set lever is pulled forward to the UP position while media is
loaded, the menu shown in Step 5 displays. When the media type is
selected again and media detection is completed, the printer enters READY
status.
Note : If media is left loaded for an extended period, stretching or contrac-
tion of the media may cause it to wrinkle around the pinch rollers. Pull the
media set lever forward to the UP position, smooth out the wrinkles, then
reload the media. Printing on wrinkled media adversely affects image
quality.
