User Manual

9.5 Example starter configuration process

The RVSS can be configured using either the MUI or inControl.

Both the MUI and inControl have Startup Wizards and step-by-step

parameter configuration menus. If the RVSS setup only requires

motor data entry and basic system parameters, the Startup Wizards

make the RVSS setup quick and easy.
As it comes from the factory, the RVSS has been configured for the

project-specified motor and power system. During commissioning

it is wise to check the settings. Whenever the BCM is replaced, it

must be completely configured for the target application.
When the inControl application is used, a record copy of as-installed

settings must be made, for factory records. A configuration profile

file can be uploaded from the RVSS, exported through inControl, and

later downloaded to a new BCM if needed.
Configuring the RVSS includes

PRG

menu settings for

•  power system parameters,
•  control input wiring,
•  motor characteristics,
•  RVSS operational mode,
•  start configuration,
•  protections,
•  Real Time Clock,
•  communications,
•  and user interface settings

MUI operations will involve using MUI softkeys:

• the

MODE/BACK

button to navigate the top menu,

• the

button to make selections,

• the

UP | DN

arrow softkeys (

to navigate vertically within

the menu,

UP | DN

arrow softkeys to increment/decrement parameter

values,

• the

SAVE

softkey to save entries,

• and the

MODE/BACK

button to return to higher-level menus.

Login

When starting from scratch, you may need to log in using the

Administrator password (if one has been set) before entering /

changing RVSS parameters. To log in,
