• Shut off the engine when leaving the machine unattended.
• Once the engine is running, the operator will focus all his attention on

operating the machine.

7.3.6

Periodic maintenance

• Periodic maintenance is essential. You must therefore strictly follow the maintenance schedule

provided in this operating manual.

• Draw up a maintenance register in which you keep the performed maintenance updated in

detail.

• Checking the blades for sharpness is essential for proper operation of your machine. Sharpen

the blades as needed.

• Check the blade bolts for tightness within a run-in period of 5 hours after having installed new

blades or reversed used blades. This also applies to the first 5 hours after putting the machine
into operation.

• Always request genuine ELIET replacement parts from your ELIET dealer if parts require

replacement due to wear or failure. This is important for your own safety (find an official ELIET
dealer near you at

• For a list of original replacement parts and their ordering codes please visit

• Always make sure the engine is switched off before performing repairs or maintenance.

Always wait until the blades have come to a complete standstill and ensure that the shredding
chamber and turbine are completely empty before performing any action whatsoever.

• Always wear suitable clothing for performing maintenance.

Use the machine in a manner that respects environmental regulations:
•  Avoid running the machine when not actively using it.
•  Avoid spilling petrol while refuelling.
•  Service the engine regularly for optimum combustion.

7.3.7

Guidelines related to the electric machines

On machines powered by an electric motor, the following guidelines must also be observed.
• The power circuit to which the machine is connected must be protected by a Residual Current

Device which switches off at a maximum of 30mA.

• The mains of the residence to which the machine is connected should be equipped with proper

grounding; have this checked by a certified electrician.

• The power switch on the machine has an integrated thermal protection. If the internal motor

temperature exceeds a standard value due to long-term heavy loading, overloading, blockage
or faulty cooling, the engine will automatically switch off. Allow the motor to cool down and
restart it according to the described starting procedure

• We recommend using an extension cord in accordance with the CE standard that meets

protection rating IP65.

• Never use an extension cord that shows signs of damage. This usually means that there is a

real risk of a short-circuit or electrocution.
