• 1 on the swivel caster
In order to lubricate these nipples, you should have a grease dispenser
at your disposal. If these are not available to you, there is always the
option of visiting an ELIET dealer for maintenance.
• To lubricate the lubricating nipples, first clean them off and remove
all the old grease.
• If necessary, remove the cover from the blade carriage. The lubri -
cating nipples can also be accessed by switching the blade carriage
into transport mode and removing the uppermost rubber cap.
• Spray on new grease in the lubricating nipple using an altered grease
dispensing lever.
• For this, use the Sunoco MULTI PURPOSE LR-EP2.
• One or two pumps should be sufficient.
• Remove any excess grease.
11.5.2. Lubricating hinges and contact points prone to friction
• Remove the protective caps, where necessary, to access any hinges or contact points prone to
friction (read § 11.4.2.1.).
• Where possible, disassemble the hinge or joint.
• Spray the chafing parts with a molybdenum disulphide (MoS
2
) -based penetrating oil, and allow
it to seep in evenly.
• Wipe off all the old excess grease and other gunk sticking to the area.
• Use compressed air to get rid of all the other gunk in harder-to-reach areas between the hinge
joints.
• Once the hinges are clean again, apply new lubricant. Spray lube in the joints between the two
friction surfaces.
• ELIET recommends Novatio Clearlube as the lubricant of choice for hinges. For contact points
prone to friction, however, Novatio PFT is suggested.
• Always wipe away any excess lubricant.
11.3.4. Lubricating the bearings
Most of the Edge Styler STD/PRO’s bearings are closed bearings and, thus, difficult to lubricate.
Bearings that are still easy to lubricate are the following:
• Bearing on the swivel caster.
• Eccentric bearing, accessible by removing the rubber covering from
the side of the cap protecting the blade carriage.
• The blade carriage bearings and belt tensioner under the cap protect -
ing the blade carriage (§ 11.4.2.1).
• Bearings for the foot pedal (§ 11.4.2.1).
