If this is the case, then consult an ELIET authorised dealer for carrying out the necessary
repairs.
Blade (dis)assembly
For inspecting the blade, the blade mount, and blade sharpness, the blade needs to be taken off.
• Ensure that the motor is off and the spark plug, disconnected.
• The blade sits in place with a handle and two clamping plates.
• Rotate the handle completely loose.
• Remove the blade and the clamping plates.
• Upon assembling the blade, first place the back side of the
clamping plate back onto the blade holder. Slide the three
pins through the holes of the blade holder.
• Afterwards, place the blade and the foremost clamping plate
on the mounting pins of the rear clamping plate.
• Tighten everything by rotating the handle on the middle
mounting pin again.
• Be sure that everything is tightly in place.
• If the handle is pointing downwards after tightening, then pull
it out and put it in again in an upwards position.
Checking the blade and blade mount
• During operation, the blade makes approximately 1000 jabs per minute. This means that
both the blade and the blade mount are subject to an intense amount of jarring. Jarring is a
primary cause of wear and tear and operator fatigue.
• In the interest of preserving the machine’s lifespan, and safety of the operator and others, it
is essential to check the condition of the blade and blade mount every time the machine is
employed.
• The blade is affixed onto the blade carriage with two pins. Naturally, this would explain the two
holes on the end of the blade.
• The blade is secured onto the pins by tightening it firmly against the blade carriage with a
central bolt and clamping plate.
Caution :
After having completed any checks, always remember to place the covers back
on to where they were originally mounted.
Caution:
In order to perform these checks, the motor should be switched off; and the
spark plug, removed. Also wear the appropriate safety gear.
