9.3.2 Stopping the engine
To stop the motor, perform the following operations:
• Switch the blade driver off by unlocking the blade arm
and positioning it into transport mode.
• Set the thrust lever in neutral, and let go of the red han -
dle.
• Switch off the motor (on the EDGE STYLER PRO, turn
the red rotary knob to OFF position; on the EDGE STY-
LER STD push the thrust lever just past neutral) .
• If present, shut the fuel tap.
9.4 Operating the machine
9.4.1 Principles of operation
In order to operate the machine properly, be on top of every situation that could possibly present
itself during operation, and approach these situations in a well-thought-out manner, several prin-
ciples of operation for the machine have been established, which are briefly explained below:
Secondary to each application of the machine, it ends up being the case that a particular type of
cut into the soil must be achieved. The method for achieving this is simple: a horizontally moving
blade that rapidly moves back and forth is driven through the ground by way of the wheel drive.
The groove is created, on the one hand, by short bursts in the jabbing motion of the blade and,
on the other hand, through the pressure of the wheel drive.

• Blade selection (type and depth)
• Blade sharpness
• Tyre grip and driving speed
• Compactness of the soil

Under no circumstances should you ever allow the motor to run for an extended
period (that is, more 30 seconds) in a closed space. The exhaust fumes contain
toxins, which can lead to poisoning or suffocation.
