800 Settings
The following easy800 settings are only possible with devices provided with
function keys and a display. These settings must be carried out in the main or
System menu.
Alternatively use the easySoft-Pro programming software to complete all the
settings via the software.
8.1 Password protection
Password protection prevents access to different areas such as the CIRCUIT
DIAGR., CLOCK or the serial INTERFACE. Further information on the areas
concerned

section “Protecting special areas”, page 298. The System
menu is always protected when a password is activated.
8.1.1 Inputting a password
You can set up a password in the System menu, irrespective of whether
operating mode RUN or STOP is selected. You cannot enter the System
menu if a password is already activated.
Numbers between 0 and 9 can be used for the password. In this case the
password consists of a value between 000001 and 999999.

Press DEL and ALT to call up the System menu.

Select the menu option SECURITY… to enter the password.

Press the OK pushbutton and enter the STD PASSWORD.
▶
Press OK once more to enter password entry mode.
If still no password has been entered, easy800 device changes directly to the
password display and displays six dashes: No password available.

Press OK to cause six zeros to appear.

Set the password using the cursor buttons:
• ú í Select position in the password.

set a value between 0 to 9.
• use ú í to select other positions in the password as required and
select a value between 0 to 9.

A password entered in the easy800 device is transferred to the
memory card with the circuit diagram, irrespective of whether it
was activated or not.
If this easy800 circuit diagram is reloaded from the card, the
password is also transferred to the easy800 device and is
activated immediately.
