When you receive chat mail in standby
<Receive chat mail>
If you receive chat mail while chat mail is not active,
“ ” appears on the standby screen. Select the icon
to activate chat mail.

The FOMA terminal recognizes mail as chat mail
when it meets all the following criteria:
• The subject includes “ チャットメール ” (all
double-byte or all single-byte).
• The sender’s or recipient’s mail address is stored
in a chat member or chat group.
• It is not Deco-mail, Decome-Anime, SMS, mail-
linked i-

ppli mail or mail to Address B of 2in1.

Chat mail can display up to 250 double-byte
characters or 500 single-byte characters.

If a file is attached to received chat mail, only the
main text appears on the chat mail screen.

member
A message appears asking whether to delete
the chat member and activate chat mail.
Select “YES” to change chat members and
activate chat mail.
Select “NO” to open the mail menu screen
without changing chat members.
2 Starting chat session
Received chat mail appears in the latest
message area. If you have not deleted chat mail,
it appears in the message history area in reverse
chronological order.

When the same mail address is stored in a chat
group, the member’s name appears. When the
mail address is not stored in the chat group, the
displayed content varies depending on whether
the mail address is stored in the phonebook.
When the mail address is stored, up to 4 double-
byte or 8 single-byte characters from the
beginning of the stored name appear. When the
mail address is not stored, up to 8 single-byte
characters from the beginning of the mail address
appear.
