Managing the DECserver 90L+
Setting Port Parameters from the Menu
To set port parameters from the menu:
1.
Enter SET at the DECserver 90L+ prompt and press
Return
. The asterisk (*)
in the menu indicates the port to which you are connected.
The following example shows how to set port 8 for use with a printer (user
entries are bolded). The following port parameters are set in this example.
Port name: PRINT
Speed: 9600
Input control: Remains unchanged
Output control: Remains unchanged
Terminal/Printer: Printer
Break: Remote
Remote modify: Remains unchanged
Test: Remains unchanged
2.
Select the port by entering a number (1 through 8) and press
Return
.
3.
Set the parameters in response to the prompts. The asterisk (*) indicates the
current setting of the parameter for the selected port. The setting of each
parameter is terminated with a
Return
. Entering a
Return
with no input for
a parameter leaves the field unchanged. If an incorrect entry is made, the
DECserver 90L+ signals the error and waits for a correct entry.
Setting Port Parameters By Command Line
Command line mode allows a port’s parameters to be set with a single entry. If
you do not want to change a parameter, an entry in that field is not required.
The format for the command line is as follows:
-> SET <port>,<name>,<speed>,<IFC>,<OFC>,<device>,<break>,<rem_mod>,<test>
