3.4 Powering OFF and Disassembly
To power OFF the tablet, press and hold the ON/OFF button (
Figure 12
) until a confirmation message
appears on the tablet screen. Select the appropriate response to complete the Power Off sequence.
Note: Pressing and releasing the Power ON/OFF button momentarily will put the tablet in a ‘sleep’ mode.
Press the ON/OFF button momentarily again to ‘wake’ the tablet. This is NOT the same as OFF.
If the analyzer is primed, it will be necessary to drain the water from each Module to enable full disassembly
of the system.
DO NOT drain by using a syringe to withdraw the water from the Luer input port as
excessive or extreme suction may result in damage to internal sensors. Instead, use a syringe to inject air
into the input until all water within the unit has been ejected, as observed at the output of the Module.
Disassemble the analyzer by reversing the assembly procedure. Power OFF the system, then disconnect all
cables and tubing sets. Note that when input and output fluid connections are removed, if the Module is not
already empty it will self-drain and release a small volume of water (about 3 ml).
Disassemble Modules by unlocking and then sliding Modules apart. To unlock, depress the thumb catch at
the rear of each Module, beside the fluid Output port (see
Figure 14
). Note that for the left side panel
(which appears on the right in
Figure 14
), the thumb catch is located inside the panel, as indicated by the
figure.
CAUTION: Damage to vPad-IV caused by failure to observe the above instructions for
proper draining and disassembly will not be covered under warranty.
