vPad-IV OPERATORS MANUAL

2.1 Modules and Channels

The vPad-IV Controller and optional "secondary" Modules measure flow, pressure and time and are
represented by the app software as

channels

. Any configuration of vPad-IV will include at least a

Controller, which is a "primary" Module providing extra features that enable the tablet to interface with up
to five "secondary" Modules in the system. Each Module is set to a unique channel number which is
indicated by a LED display on the front panel. Per

Figure 1

, in most setups the Controller is typically

assigned to channel number

one

.

At startup, the vPad-IV app searches for attached Modules and accordingly enables or disables
corresponding channels as shown on the left of the tablet screen (

Figure 2

). Enabled channels are

selectable via the highlighted number icons at left; disconnected or absent Modules are represented by
greyed-out icons and the corresponding channels are not selectable.

Once the app has started up, each enabled channel is then monitored by the app and its status is represented

as an icon beside the channel number. A

icon ("setup and run") means the corresponding Module is

idle and is ready to perform a test. A

icon ("alert") typically indicates the corresponding Module

requires

priming

2.2 Test Setup

If a Module is ready to run a test, selecting its channel in the app displays the Test Setup menu. Test setup
begins with input of a device control number or ID, which will identify the

Test Record

and

Equipment

Record

that will be created when testing of the device is completed. In addition to the ID, users may

optionally enter other equipment information such as make, model, serial number and so on.
