Lesson 9
Time Functions
A set of Time functions controls many important properties of the Drum
Drone and Beat Bot. The Time menu and other Time functions are
described in this lesson. These functions are accessed using
[TIME]
,
sometimes in combination with a second button.
Pattern Time Scale
Each of your patterns is associated with one of four available time
scales. The time scale dictates the speed at which the pattern is played.
The four available time scales are:
Time Scale
Description
[1] 16th note
Each pattern step represents one 16th note. This is
the default time scale for new patterns.
[2] 32nd note
Each pattern step represents one 32nd note. This
means the pattern is played back twice as fast as with
the 16th note time scale.
[3] 8th note
triplet
Each pattern step represents an 8th note triplet. This
scale is intended for time signatures such as 3/4 and
6/8. With this time scale, a "bar" is 12 steps long
instead of 16 steps. Because of this, each page of the
pattern shows 12 steps and the maximum pattern
length is 48 steps instead of 64.
[4] 16th note
triplet
Each pattern step represents a 16th note triplet. This
means the pattern is played back twice as fast as with
the 8th note triplet time scale. A "bar" is 12 steps long
and the maximum pattern length is 48 steps.
