External MIDI Control
Your drum machine can be controlled by an external MIDI controller or
sequencer by connecting the MIDI OUT from another device to the MIDI
IN jack on the back of the drum machine.
Your drum machine responds to Note On messages for each of
its drum instruments. Rhythms may be programmed through a
DAW or another hardware sequencer. Your drum machine
responds to Note On messages in all four of its modes. Note
messages with a velocity value above 112 are considered to be
accented drum strikes.
Your drum machine responds to Continuous Controller (CC)
messages for adjusting the Tone values of each of its
instruments. There is at least one dedicated CC for each
instrument.
Your drum machine responds to other CC messages for
controlling various other features. These are listed in the MIDI
Implementation Chart later in this manual.
Your drum machine always synchronizes its sequencer to
incoming MIDI Clock transport messages. This is described
below.
Synchronization to an External MIDI Clock
Your drum machine will automatically synchronize its sequencer to a
MIDI clock received from an external MIDI source. It will respond to
external start commands, stop commands, continue messages, and
clock information.
