for example, the graphical speed display would never reach its maximum. However, this can be compensated for by setting the
value of Maximum Displayed Speed. This is best explained in an example.
A powerchair with a rated speed of 4mph requires the Maximum Forward Speed to be re-programmed from 100% to 80%, in
order to suit a particular user. This would mean the powerchair now has a top speed of 3.2mph and that the graphical speed
display will never ‘fill’ beyond a point of 80%. If it i s required for the graphical speed display to ‘fill’ to 100%, then the value of
Maximum Displayed Speed should be set to 3.2mph
The programmable range is 0.0mph to 20.0mph.
NOTE:
Only certain Input Devices, e.g. CJSM or Omni, have the speedometer and Odome ter functions.
12.12 JOYSTICK STATI ONARY TIME
If the joystick is held in a deflected position, i.e. away from center, for a period of time exceeding this value, then it is assumed
the deflection is accidental and drive to the motors will be cut. This function is useful in avoiding motor damage in these
situations.
The programmable range is 0 minutes to 60 minutes in steps of 1 minute. A setting of zero disables this function.
It is not normally necessary to adjust this parameter.
WARNING:
The values of both Joystick Stationary Time and Joystick Stationary Range have been selected by the wheelchair
manufacturer in order to minimize the risk of motor damage. Do not adjust these values with consulting the wheelchair
manufacturer.
Curtiss-Wright accept no liability for losses of any kind resulting from the adjustment of the Joystick Stationary Time and
Joystick Stationary Range parameters.
12.13 JOYSTICK STATI ONARY RANGE
This sets the ‘window’ within which the joystick is considered to be stationary. If the joystick moves by more than this valu e,
then the associated timer is reset.
The programmable range is 1 to 50 in steps of 1.
