2.2 POSITION
The Gyro Module must be mounted in a position where it is not exposed to levels of water, dust, shock or vibration above those
expected on a mobility application. The Gyro Module has been tested in accordance with IS07176/14 with respect to these
conditions. Contact Curtiss-Wright if you need further advice.
2.23 ORIENTATION
The Gyro Module should be mounted so that water cannot enter and remain in the connector recesses. The recommended
mounting orientation is such that the Module is standing upright with the connectors pointing down. The function of the Gyro
Module is sensitive to mounting orientation, therefore once mounted refer to the Programming section of this Chapter. The
module has an IPX4 dust and water rating.

2.4 CONNECTIONS
There is one ReBus connector within the Gyro Module used for connection to the R-net system.
3 PROGRAMMING
The Gyro module gives the most comfortable results on a wheelchair tha t has already been set up to provide optimal
performance and steering stability without Gyro control. The parameters that most affect general drive control are;
Motor Compensation
Maximum and Minimum Speed
Acceleration
Deceleration
Front Wheel Drive Type
Front Wheel Drive (%)

The inclusion of a closed loop gyro control system can significantly increase the steering responsiveness of the wheelchair.
Therefore, it is usually necessary to use lower Turn Acceleration and Turn Deceleration rates.
