Setting the scan direction for the camera and 3D calculation
There is a dependency of the scan direction for the 3DPIXA camera and the 3D calibration.
The relationship between the 3DPIXA alignment and the scan direction is described in
chapter 5.3, p. 40.
In addition to the scan direction set in the camera, the scan direction must also be set for
the 3D calibration.
The calibration of the 3DPIXA camera for measuring height information is implemented for the
forward scan direction. To generate height information for the backward scan direction the
calibration has to be switched to the inverted transport direction in the CS-3D-API. This is
done by the parameter
invertTransportDirection
in the configuration file.
To set the scan direction for the camera and the 3D calibration perform the following steps:
1. Set the scan direction in the camera:

If using a 3DPIXA dual camera, the scan direction has to be set for the master camera
and the slave camera.
For setting the scan direction via the CST, proceed as follows:
– In the
Camera Settings
select
Camera arrangement
in the
Camera parameter
folder.

– In the
Set scan direction
field, select the scan direction from the dropdown list.
For setting the scan direction via the CS-API, refer to the CS-API manual.
