3DPIXA
Fig. 15: Conveyer belt adjustment: minimize lateral oscillations
1
Correct adjustment:
Smooth transport
2
Incorrect adjustment:
Oscillating target
Not only conveyor belts but also linear stages show lateral and vertical oscillations.
Make sure that the technical specifications of the linear stage match with the
measuring task.
Lifting table
Use a lifting table with precision guide and adequate height resolution:
– The lifting table must move without vibration and parallel to the camera view direction.
– The height resolution must be smaller than the height range of the used 3DPIXA
camera type (see chapter 2.3, p. 11).

Mounting the camera
NOTICE! Damage by scratching the glass plate of the camera!
Keep hard and sharp objects away from the glass plate of the camera.
Precise image capturing and 3D calculations are possible only if the camera is installed
very precisely. Tilting of the camera leads to image artifacts and/or wrong calculation
results.
The preconditions for the 3D scanner components are fulfilled (see chapter 5.2, p. 39).
1. Prepare a mounting plate having regard to the following conditions:
– The attachment points in the mounting plate must match the mounting holes in the
camera (see technical drawings).
– The camera can be installed at the correct working distance (see chapter 2.3, p. 11).
– The mounting plate can be fixed to a camera holder.
– The mounting plate efficiently dissipates the heat generated by the camera.
Heat conduction pads may be used between the camera and heat-conductive parts.
2. Mount the camera to the prepared mounting plate.
3. Place the camera at the correct free working distance.
For the product-specific free working distance see technical drawing for your 3DPIXA
camera type. Take account of the object height.
