The value
“Encoder pulses per line” is calculated with the following formula by the given
values in the CST:
𝐸𝑛𝑐𝑜𝑑𝑒𝑟𝑃𝑢𝑙𝑠𝑒𝑃𝑒𝑟𝐿𝑖𝑛𝑒 =
𝐸𝑛𝑐𝑜𝑑𝑒𝑟𝐶ℎ𝑎𝑛𝑛𝑒𝑙 (
𝑒𝑑𝑔𝑒𝑠
𝑠𝑡𝑒𝑝 ) × 25.4 (
𝑚𝑚
𝑖𝑛𝑐ℎ) × 1000
𝐸𝑛𝑐𝑜𝑑𝑒𝑟𝑅𝑒𝑠𝑜𝑙𝑢𝑡𝑖𝑜𝑛 (
µ𝑚
𝑠𝑡𝑒𝑝) × 𝑉𝑒𝑟𝑡𝑖𝑐𝑎𝑙𝐼𝑚𝑎𝑔𝑒𝑅𝑒𝑠𝑜𝑙𝑢𝑡𝑖𝑜𝑛 (
𝑑𝑜𝑡𝑠
𝑖𝑛𝑐ℎ)
The CST shows the result.
When using dots per inch (dpi) for the calculation, the following formula used:
𝐸𝑛𝑐𝑜𝑑𝑒𝑟𝑃𝑢𝑙𝑠𝑒𝑠𝑃𝑒𝑟𝐿𝑖𝑛𝑒 = 𝐹𝑢𝑙𝑙𝐼𝑛𝑐𝑟𝑒𝑚𝑒𝑛𝑡𝑅𝑒𝑠𝑜𝑙𝑢𝑡𝑖𝑜𝑛 (𝑑𝑝𝑖) ×
𝑒𝑑𝑔𝑒𝑠/𝑠𝑡𝑒𝑝
𝑇𝑟𝑎𝑛𝑠𝑝𝑜𝑟𝑡𝑅𝑒𝑠𝑜𝑙𝑢𝑡𝑖𝑜𝑛 (𝑑𝑝𝑖)
The value
“Encoder pulses per line” can also be calculated with the following formula:
𝐸𝑛𝑐𝑜𝑑𝑒𝑟𝑃𝑢𝑙𝑠𝑒𝑠𝑃𝑒𝑟𝐿𝑖𝑛𝑒 = 𝑇𝑟𝑎𝑛𝑠𝑝𝑜𝑟𝑡𝑅𝑒𝑠𝑜𝑙𝑢𝑡𝑖𝑜𝑛 (
µ𝑚
𝑝𝑖𝑥𝑒𝑙
) ×
𝑒𝑑𝑔𝑒𝑠/𝑠𝑡𝑒𝑝
𝐹𝑢𝑙𝑙𝐼𝑛𝑐𝑟𝑒𝑚𝑒𝑛𝑡𝑅𝑒𝑠𝑜𝑙𝑢𝑡𝑖𝑜𝑛 (
µ𝑚
𝑖𝑛𝑐𝑟)
“Vertical image resolution” and “Integration time” have to be suitable to the transport
speed. The time for one line (speed divided by resolution) should be longer than the
shortest possible integration time. In case of higher speed, the camera will switch to free
running line mode.
7.6.7
Line trigger / encoder reduction
Function
Internal pre-counter for the line trigger or encoder signal, will output an
internal line trigger after the set value of signals from external line trigger
source.
Dependency
Only active with “Enable encoder”.
When using the line trigger reduction, the vertical image resolution is reduced:
𝑇𝑟𝑎𝑛𝑠𝑝𝑜𝑟𝑡𝑅𝑒𝑠𝑜𝑙𝑢𝑡𝑖𝑜𝑛, 𝑟𝑒𝑑𝑢𝑐𝑒𝑑 (𝑑𝑝𝑖) =
𝑇𝑟𝑎𝑛𝑠𝑝𝑜𝑟𝑡𝑅𝑒𝑠𝑜𝑙𝑢𝑡𝑖𝑜𝑛 (𝑑𝑝𝑖)
𝐿𝑖𝑛𝑒 𝑡𝑟𝑖𝑔𝑔𝑒𝑟 𝑟𝑒𝑑𝑢𝑐𝑡𝑖𝑜𝑛 𝑓𝑎𝑐𝑡𝑜𝑟
𝑇𝑟𝑎𝑛𝑠𝑝𝑜𝑟𝑡𝑅𝑒𝑠𝑜𝑙𝑢𝑡𝑖𝑜𝑛, 𝑟𝑒𝑑𝑢𝑐𝑒𝑑(µ𝑚) = 𝐿𝑖𝑛𝑒 𝑡𝑟𝑖𝑔𝑔𝑒𝑟 𝑟𝑒𝑑𝑢𝑐𝑡𝑖𝑜𝑛 𝑓𝑎𝑐𝑡𝑜𝑟 × 𝑇𝑟𝑎𝑛𝑠𝑝𝑜𝑟𝑡𝑅𝑒𝑠𝑜𝑙𝑢𝑡𝑖𝑜𝑛(µ𝑚)
