Fuel System Pressure

Relieving Fuel System Pressure

1. Before servicing the vehicle, refer to the precautions in the beginning of this

section.

2.  Disconnect the negative battery cable.
3.  Remove the fuel filler cap from the filler neck.
4.  Remove the appearance cover from the fuel supply manifold.
5.  Connect a suitable fuel pressure gauge to the fuel pressure test port. Wrap a shop

towel around the fitting while connecting the gauge to prevent fuel spillage.

6. Install the gauge bleed hose into a suitable container and open the valve to bleed

the system.

7. Drain any remaining fuel from the gauge into the container and remove the gauge

from the test port.
