1. Remove the evaporative emission (EVAP) canister purge solenoid valve from the

mounting bracket.

2. If replacing the bracket, detach the bracket from the engine.

To Install:

1. If replacing the bracket, attach the bracket to the engine. Torque the bolt to

89 in-lb

(10 Nm)

.

2. Install the evaporative emission (EVAP) canister purge solenoid valve onto the

mounting bracket.

3. Connect the evaporative emission (EVAP) purge pipe and engine vacuum pipe to

the evaporative emission (EVAP) canister purge solenoid valve.

4. Connect the evaporative emission (EVAP) canister purge solenoid valve connector.
5. Lower the vehicle.

5.3L & 6.0L Engines

To Remove:

1. If equipped, remove the intake manifold sight shield from the engine.
2. Disconnect the evaporative emission (EVAP) pipes from the evaporative emission

(EVAP) canister purge solenoid.

3. Disconnect the evaporative emission (EVAP) canister purge solenoid connector.

Evaporative emission canister purge solenoid valve removal

and installation

4. Remove the evaporative emission (EVAP) canister purge solenoid from the fuel

rail.
