C O M PO N EN T PART

REPLACEMENT

R A D IO RECEIVER

C-K M odels

Replacement (Fig. 9-3R)

Disconnect battery ground cable.

Pull off radio control knobs and remove knob

bezels. Remove nuts and washers from control shafts

using a d eep well socket.

Radio-Remove the radio support bracket

stud nut and lockwasher.

Radio-Remove radio support bracket to

in stru m en t p an el screws.

Lift up on the r e a r edge o f radio. T h en push

ra d io forw ard until control shafts clear instrum ent panel.

Lower control

fa r enough to disconnect electrical

harness.

Disconnect power feed, speaker and a n te n n a

lead wires and remove radio.

To install, reverse Steps 1-5 above.

G M odels

Replacement (Fig. 9-4R)

Disconnect battery g round cable.

Remove engine cover.

Remove air cle aner on carburetor.

Remove stud in c a rb u re to r th roat for m ounting

air cleaner.

Cover carb u reto r throat with clean plastic to

p revent dirt or radio attachm ents from falling into
carburetor.

Remove knobs, washers and nuts from control

shafts on front o f radio.

Remove bracket to radio receiver screw.

Now guide ra d io forw ard and then down

through engine access area. Lower radio f a r enough to
disconnect electrical connectors and

a n te n n a lead.

Remove radio.

Reverse Steps 1-8 for installation o f radio.

FR O N T SPEAKER

C-K M odels

Replacement (Fig. 9-5R)

Disconnect battery ground cable.

Remove instrum ent cluster bezel upper four

screws.

Remove instrum ent panel pad screws and

remove pad.

Remove speaker to dash panel screws.

Lift up on speaker, disconnect speaker w iring

harness and then remove speaker.

To install, reverse Steps 1-5 above.

G M odels

Replacement (Fig. 9-4R)

Follow radio removal Steps 1 through 8.

Remove left heater duct (attached to engine

cover extension by one screw).

Remove speaker to m ounting bracket screw and

lower speaker out engine cover opening.

REAR SPEAKER

Replacement (Fig. 9-6R)

Remove four screws securing speaker grille to

trim panel and remove grille.

Disconnect electrical connector from speaker.

Remove two screws securing speaker to trim

panel and remove speaker.

N O TE: On 109 and 209 (06) models, there is a
gasket between speaker and trim panel.

Install replacem ent speaker in reverse o rd er o f

removal.

G M odels

Replacement (Figs. 9-7R and 9-8R)

Remove the four most forw ard lower screws

securing right re a r trim panel. Pull trim panel outw ard
slightly for access to speaker.

Disconnect electrical connector fro m speaker.

Remove four nuts securing speaker to grille

studs and remove speaker.
