5.8.1. OSD control panel (On Screen Display)
This menu allows the user to change some operating parameters of the
C-U2 PRO handpiece.
The menu displayed is automatically cleared if the foot control or touch key
is not pressed for a few seconds or if the handpiece is put back in place.
The selected options are automatically saved.
All the parameters that regard the aspect of the image are saved in the
handpiece therefore they accompany it if it is used in more than one
dental unit.
NOTE:
the factory settings are shown in the fi gures below.
How to navigate inside the menus
• Press the foot control to scroll the items available (“vertical” scroll).
NOTE:
the active option is always the one highlighted in yellow.
• Press the touch key on the handpiece to select the possible options for
a c
ertain item ( “horizontal” scroll).
• Use buttons INCREASE and/or DECREASE to change the parameters
given on the adjustment menu.
• Press the foot control to go to the next data item. The selected option
is automatically activated.

IMAGE BRIGHTNESS
: increases or decreases the brightness of the
image displayed according to the power of the lighting unit. It affects
the exposure time.

COLOR SATURATION
: : increases or decreases color saturation. If
set to minimum the image appears in black and white, at maximum
the color is very strong.

GAMMA
: similar to a contrast control but with a stronger effect. It
changes how dark/bright areas render in the image; the image is
“softer” at the lowest value; it is “harder” at the maximum value.

LED POWER
: used to adjust the brightness of the lighting unit. It
should be used if saturation cannot be eliminated (amalgam, etc..)
even if brightness is decreased.

COLOR SETTINGS
: adjusts the color profi le.
It allows the user to gradually change from a “colder” profi le (to the
left) to a “warmer” one (to the right). “Auto WB” activates the auto-
matic white balancing function which is to be used under particular
conditions in which the previous profi les are not satisfactory.

ADVANCED SETUP
:last data item on the menu it accesses options
used less frequently. Actuate the foot control to go back to the be-
ginning to continue modifying other parameters. On the other hand
select “YES” (with the touch key) and actuate the foot control to go
to the advanced menu.

This menu provides access to seldom used confi guration options.

FREEZE MODE
: menu to set the “Freeze” function (image freeze).
• Footc Touch:Function "Freeze" can be activated both with
the foot control and touch button for the C-U2 PRO camera.
• Footcontrol only: function “Freeze” is turned on only with the foot
control.
• Always Live: function “Freeze” disabled, “live” mode is used.

RESTORE DEFAULTS
: restores the original factory settings.
Press the foot control to go back to the basic level menu (“Image
Brightness”). Select“YES” to restore the factory settings.
