5.6.1.2. BOOST functioning mode
In addition to the ultrasonic vibration of the bit, a modulation with the amplitude of the generated power (approx. +40% of the set power) is performed.
The modulation creates a percussion effect on the bone thereby making incision easier.
Three different modulation times can be set depending on the thickness of the bone tissue to be treated.

• When the left-hand multifunction button (
M1
) is pressed, one of the three
available working programmes is selected.
Each working programme stores the following data:
- maximum power generated,
- the quantity of physiological solution supplied by the peristaltic pump,
- set modulation (Bone)
- the power variation mode during functioning.
• By pressing the right-hand multifunction button ( ) the submenu for chan-
ging the operational settings is accessed.

With the instrument extracted but not active, when the right-hand multifunction
button (
) the submenu is accessed where the following icons regarding
the settable functions are to be found:

• Press the MENU button to scroll through the icons until you select the
function required.
• Setting the type of modulation.
Press the INCREASE and/or DECREASE buttons to modify the modula-
tion depending on the thickness of the bone tissue to be treated:
- Bone I : hard bone tissue (8ms);
- Bone II : Medium bone tissue (16ms);
- Bone III : soft bone tissue (64ms).
• Supplied power variation mode.
Press the INCREASE and/or DECREASE buttons to select the rotation
speed variation mode:
- icon
: linear variation, proportional to the movement of the foot control
lever,
- icon
: ON/OFF variation that entails the supply of maximum power
set on the activation of the foot control lever.
• To confi rm the settings selected you just need to leave this submenu
pressing the ESC multifunction button.
