Setting Up the System

Pyxis MedStation 4000 System Console User Guide

provided on this dialog box is rarely used except in situations requiring in
depth communication analysis.

Xid

—Name of the device polled.

rid

—Name of the device that is polling, usually the console.

mode

—Current step in the protocol.

method

—The method number. Numbering begins at “0”.

—The first few characters of the message being sent.

pseq

—Packet sequence, the number of messages transmitted during

the session.

—First transmission retry counter that increments when a message

packet transmission has an error. The packet is retransmitted until it is
error-free or fails seven times and must abort.

—Second transmission retry counter that increments when a

message packet transmission has an error. The packet is retransmitted
until it is error-free or fails seven times and must abort.

—Indicates the direction of transmission: T indicates

communications to the polled device. F indicates communications
from the device.

—Finish status. The coded result of the last poll.

In the information box, the following items are included:

Remote

—Network does not run from a COM port.

#XFR

—Amount of messages to transmit to devices.

#Rcv

—Amount of messages received from devices.

Mode

—The state in which the sessions for the protocol reside. Will

be shown as Idle, Listen_W, or Polling.

Recv

—Receive
