Checking for Tyre Wear
Wear marks are cast inside tyre treads.
: Wearing to this position indicates
that the tyres have poor anti-skidding
capabilities.
TWI: Wearing to this position indicates that
the tyres need to be replaced.
Tyre Rotation
1 Non-directional tyre rotation.
2 Directional tyre rotation.
To avoid uneven tyre wear and extend
service life, rotate tyres according to the
maintenance schedule. After tyre rotation,
get familiar with the four-wheel alignment
and tyre pressure monitoring system, and
adjust the tyre pressure to the specified
range (refer to Vehicle Information-
Technical Parameters-Wheel and Tyre
Parameters).
Wheel Balance
The wheels of any new vehicle have been
dynamically balanced, but they may
become unbalanced with driving due to
various influences.
Unbalanced wheels will aggravate the wear
and impact on steering system and tyres, so
they must be dynamically balanced again.
Every wheel must be dynamically balanced
again after tyres are repaired or new tyres
are installed.
Wheel Alignment
Misalignment of wheels will lead to uneven
and excessive wear of tyres, which will
affect driving safety. In the event of uneven
and excessive tyre wear, contact a BYD
authorised dealer or service provider to
check alignment as soon as possible.
Four- wheel alignment is required in the
following situations:
• Driving performance is abnormal, such
as deviation;
•
Suspension system components have
been removed or replaced;
•
Tyres on one side are worn.
Self-learning
After tyre replacement or rotation, contact
a BYD authorised dealer or service provider
to update data with the diagnostic device.
