Cleaning the Vehicle
Exterior Cleaning
Be sure normal methods are used to wash
the vehicle.
Peeling of paint layers or corrosion of body
or other parts can occur quite easily if the
vehicle is not washed timely after driving in
the following conditions:
•
Along the seaside;
•
On a road surfaces with antifreeze agents;
•
On road surfaces with coal tar, resin or
insect carcasses;
•
In an areas with heavy smoke, coal ash,
dust, iron filings or chemicals;
•
When the vehicle is excessively dirty,
dusty or muddy.
Washing the Vehicle Manually
Wait for the vehicle to cool down
sufficiently in the shade before washing it.
1. Rinse all loose dirt, mud, salt or alkali off
the bottom and the wheel cavities.
2. Clean the vehicle with a neutral
washing agent, mixed according to the
manufacturer's instructions. Gently wipe
the vehicle from top to bottom along the
direction of the water flow with a soft
cloth dipped in cleaning solution. Do not
wipe horizontally or in a circular motion.
3. Clean the tyres with special sponges and
brushes.
4. Rinse thoroughly.
5. Wipe water marks with an absorbent
cloth. Do not use excessive force when
wiping to avoid damage to the paint
surface.
6. Use an air blower to dry any
accumulated water in the vehicle's
crevices such as door sealing strips,
side mirrors, charging port covers and
headlights.
WARNING!
•
Avoid hand injury when cleaning the
floor or chassis.
CAUTION!
•
Do not use alkaline washing powder,
soapy water, detergents, de-waxing
detergents or any volatile substance
(gasoline, kerosene, or solvent) to
clean the vehicle.
•
When cleaning the combination
lamps, do not wipe their surface with
chemical solvents such as gasoline
or alcohol. Doing so will cause the
combination lamp casings to crack.
•
It is recommended that vehicles
travelling in coastal or heavily
polluted areas be washed more
frequently.
•
Do not use blades or gasoline to
remove hard dirt from the vehicle
body. Plastic decorative parts are
easily damaged by chemicals or
abrasion. If any chemicals are
splashed on the decorative parts,
clean them immediately with agents
meant to clean decorative parts,
and check whether they have been
damaged. If they have, replace them
as soon as possible.
•
Do not use abrasive cleaning agents
to scrub the bumper.
•
When using high-pressure water
to clean the vehicle chassis, keep
the water pressure at a medium to
low level, and keep away from any
connectors.
•
To clean polished metal parts, a
carbon cleaning agent should be
used and the parts should be waxed
regularly for protection.
