Restart Operations
CAUTION:
For proper cooling and safe operation of the computer, all the panels must be in
place before you power up the system.
Note:
If at least one disk expansion unit is connected to the system, please refer to the
Disk Expansion Unit Service Guide
to perform the correct restart operations,
according to the system configuration.
The following operations must be performed after all operations on the system are
concluded.
1. Plug the power cord of the system unit into the outlet.
2. Plug in the power cords of all the external devices connected to the system unit into the
outlet, if any.
3. Make sure the power switches for all the external devices connected to the system unit,
if any, are set to ON.
4. Power on the machine by turning the key mode switch to the Normal or Service position
(use the Service position, if you want to enter the operating system diagnostic mode).
After the physical upgrade is completed, you may need to perform some software
operations to use the new component (e.g., install a new device driver or create a file
system for the new disk). Refer to the operating system documentation.
