3. Access each base unit from the left side.
4. Ensure that two dedicated PCI controllers are properly installed in each base unit. In
particular, be sure that each controller in BASE UNIT A is installed in the same position
of the controller to which it is to be connected in BASE UNIT B.
– For each base unit, the first controller activates the SCSI bus for hard disk devices
installed in Areas 3 and 2 and is connected to the second controller of the other base
unit.
– For each base unit, the first controller (the one with both internal and external
connections) needs a H.A. wrap plug plugged in the additional SCSI connector
present on its internal cable; the second controller (the one with external connection
only) needs a H.A. wrap plug plugged on the controller itself.
Note:
High Availability configurations foresee the presence of two controllers on the same
SCSI bus. Be sure that the two controllers are not configured with the same SCSI
ID. Please refer to the
Bull ESCALA PowerCluster & HA Solutions Setup Guide for
information on SCSI ID setting.
5. Activate the SCSI busses for the internal device areas of each base unit. In particular,
be sure that the PCI controller for disk devices installed in Areas 3 and 2 is connected to
the corresponding connector on the bulkhead
.
6. Perform the connections between the two base units.
