V. Measuring

5.10.2 Start Measurement

• Press "START" to the right of the mV display.

- This will cause the displacement piston to oscil-

late and the streaming potential to be displayed

in mV

• Wait for approximately 30 seconds until the signal

has stabilized.
- Alternative is to set a settling time with a Wi-Fi

device, for example a smartphone. The titration

will start at the set time.

• Fill a 10 ml sample into the measuring cell.
• Press "Titrant" to start a titration with the stored set-

tings.

• A titration curve will be stored in the smart display.
• When the titration curve is done it can bee seen on

a connected Wi-Fi device, see chapter 5.5 "Connect

a mobile device to PCD-05 Smart", page 34.

• Press "Home" to open the main window.
• On the Wi-Fi device the method can be changed or

a new method can be added.

Fig. 5-8

Methods

Information

To create/reprogram your own method enter the

"Method" tab on the Wi-Fi device.

5.10.3 Start titration

• Press "Titrant" on the smart display.

- The titration is performed automatically by using

the pump selected in the method screen (see

5.12.1 "Method settings", page 44).

- The Mütek™ PCD-05 stops as soon as the ter-

mination criteria is reached.

Information

Since the displacement piston continues its oscilla-
ting movement, the streaming potential and pH sig-
nal (optinal) may change. This is a normal effect
without any influence on measurement results.

• Press "OK" to confirm the measurement.

Information

When reaching the end point criteria the result will
automatically be stored. The final demand is calcu-
late back to 0 mV. All results including curves will be
stored and can be reached with a Wi-Fi device.
